Game Analysis
The Beach
The Beach was shown in DS1 multiple times, this is place between the living and the dead. It's a beach with black sand, and full of stranded sea creatures. DS2 trailers explicitly state which story parts are being shown in the beach, by showing the grey scale character's design
There are mentions of multiple locations, like America which apparently was left behind in DS1, they also mention Mexico so it seems we are visiting this new location among other's.
On the Ship
The DHV Magellan is a new ship shown by Fragile, it's a mobile base where Sam seems to be stayingOn the Strand
This seems to be just the name of the living world , Is shown in mulitple locaitons There's also a new character which seems completely disconnected from the original cast, a person who was a Porter carrying "Chiralium" in between countries.
Draw Bridge a New Organization
Higgs (played by Troy Baker) mysteriously returns, this time surrounded by big humanoid robots, there's a big detail regarding this appereance, he seems to be using Amelie's body while also wearing a strong white makeup.Should We Have Connected?
DS1 was all about about connecting a stranded America, not only connecting the Chiral Network, but bringing people together building structures and clearing paths for underground shelters and Knot Cities. This is a tricky question since this was the main goal in the game. The First Death Stranding
The first Death Stranding game was released in November 8, 2019 for the PS4. It was the first game released by the newly created game studio "Kojima Productions". The game has a strong narrative focus with long cutscenes, played by world class actors. The score is varied due to the participation of multiple composers like Luvig Forsell, who also scored the OST for Metal Gear Solid V - The Phantom Pain back in 2015; and Low Roar, and Indie Rock Band, among others. The gameplay is tangentially different from the classic game genres that we are used to, it contains some classic stealth elements but the main focus of the game isn't to defeat the enemies, but it's about traversing the land with futuristic like machines, powered by Chiral Crystals, the game includes simple features of base building along with a peaceful combat approach, using ropes and Bola Guns, all 3-D printed. The Boss Battles are focused on destroying huge BTs which are no longer humanoids, but are huge sea stranded sea creatures which seem to have lived in the zone millions of years ago, Sam uses his own blood to destroy this creatures due to his unique condition as a Repatriate.
The Story So Far
The story begins in when Sam Porter Bridges, portrayed by Norman Reedus, is doing porter deliveries and finds himself doing work for no more than the president Strand and that leads him on a journey that will take him a cross America, along the way he meets new people who are going to help him on the quest to connect people. The world at the brink of extiction due to several voidouts, caused by Beached Things (BTs), there's also an enemy group lead by Higgs who engineers voidouts across the country.
